Hyderabad/Jaipur: Ajmer Dargah Khadim (cleric), Syed Gohri chishtiwho was following Ajmer He was arrested from Begum Bazar in Hyderabad on Thursday, who was arrested by the police last month for allegedly making provocative speeches. Ajmer Police, which tracked him down with the help of Telangana Police, also detained a bangle seller, Munawwar, for sheltering the cleric. The latter is a resident of Goshamahal who often visited Ajmer temple.
IG (Ajmer) Rupinder Singh told TOI that Chishti was taken from Hyderabad to Jaipur. From there he would be taken directly to Ajmer where a case was registered against him. Munavwar has also been taken to Rajasthan.
Around a dozen police teams traced his whereabouts to several cities. A case was registered against Chishti in an FIR of June 25 at Dargah police station. Udaipur,
Chishti had organized a meeting on June 16 in which he inspired others to raise objectionable slogans.
An official said, “The meeting took place just a day before the rally in which he (Chishti) told others about the slogans that were finally heard on June 17. Hence, he is one of the prime suspects and various teams are chasing him. Is doing.”
According to SHO (Dargah), Dalbir Singh, the police have already arrested four accused in the case, identified as Fakhar Jamali, Tajim Siddiqui, Moin and Riyaz Hasan.
Police said that around 3,000 people had gathered at Ajmer’s Nizam Gate that day. Chishti violated the permission norms and used the loudspeaker on the rickshaw, where he started shouting beheading slogans to instigate the crowd. According to the FIR, Chishti openly violated the norms and permissions given for the program by instigating the participants with hateful slogans through loudspeakers.
On getting information about the police action, he fled.
