Mayor discusses recycling of plastic waste

Mayor Shivakumar along with MCC health officer DG Nagaraju visited a company manufacturing plastic waste recycling products near sewage farm in Vidyaranyapuram, Mysuru on Tuesday to explore the possibility of manufacturing interlocking tiles from plastic waste . Mysore city generates over 100 tonnes of plastic waste every day which can be recycled. The Mayor interacted with Dinesh Bopanna of Jagrut Tech Pvt. Ltd. and discussed the possibility of manufacturing interlocking tiles from plastic waste. The firm has been certified by the Central Pollution Control Board and is in the business of recycling plastic waste into useful products. A press release states that products made from plastic waste are good for reuse and interlocking tiles are one such option.
