The outcome of this election, which is broadly billed as a triangular contest between a spirited AAP, a confident BJP and an optimistic Congress, could have ramifications beyond the national capital.

Both AAP and BJP have expressed confidence That they will emerge victorious in the elections, as the Congress seeks to regain lost ground.

However, most exit polls have predicted a massive victory for the AAP over the BJP, with the Congress a distant third.

While AAP fielded 138 women candidates, BJP and Congress fielded 136 and 129 candidates, respectively.

The counting centers are located in areas like Shastri Park, Yamuna Vihar, Mayur Vihar, Nand Nagari, Dwarka, Okhla, Mangolpuri, Pitampura, Alipore and Model Town.

Police officials said on Tuesday that 20 companies of Central Armed Police Forces and over 10,000 police personnel have been deployed at all the centres.

In the 2017 civic polls, the BJP had won 181 of the 270 wards. Voting could not be held in two seats due to the death of the candidates. AAP had won 48 wards and Congress 27. The voting percentage that year was around 53.

This year the highest polling percentage (65.72) has been recorded in ward number 27. 5 (Bakhtawarpur), while the lowest (33.74 percent) ward no. 145 (Andrews Ganj).

The figures for some other wards were as follows – Civil Lines (44.86%), Chandni Chowk (44.48%), Karol Bagh (44.72%), Najafgarh (51.97%), Rajinder Nagar (44.26%), Malviya Nagar (44.89%). , Greater Kailash (38.99%), and Laxmi Nagar (49.02%).

As per the data shared by the State Election Commission on Monday, 51.03% male voters exercised their franchise while 49.83% female voters voted in the crucial civic polls.

As per the data shared by the SEC officials, the total number of voters in Delhi is 1,45,05,358 -78,93,418 are males, 66,10,879 are females and 1,061 are transgender people.

The authorities had set up 13,638 polling booths across Delhi for the exercise.

Barring a few isolated incidents of violation of the MCC (Model Code of Conduct) and “a few other isolated incidents of impersonation”, the polling remained peaceful and no untoward incident was reported from anywhere, the Election Commission said in a statement. Sunday night
