The scheme will focus on accelerated restaurant modernization in the region – redefining the customer experience with much awaited changes – refreshing ambiance with modern look and feel, advanced hospitality standards and technological innovations for enhanced convenience. About 150 modern McDonald’s restaurants are set to be set up in North and East India by 2024.
The next time you visit an outlet, you may find self-ordering kiosks to place orders, staffed with guest experience leaders to assist with the process. Customers can place their order and skip the front counter altogether, having their food brought to their table. Table service McDonald’s is a first in India – North and East, all in a more modern, more exciting and enjoyable restaurant environment.

Mr. Agarwal’s bold plans include adding around 150 modern McDonald’s restaurants in North and East India by 2024. “The Indian QSR segment is a very exciting and dynamic space that offers huge opportunities for growth,” he added.
Recently, McDonald’s has added new options to the Happy Meal to deliver healthy and nutritious meals. Nutritious refreshments on the menu and introduced Butter Chicken and Butter Paneer Grilled Burger in its menu inspired by the local Indian cuisine. McDonald’s also recently introduced the ‘McDonald’s’ brand app, which provides lucrative deals and offers to dine-in, takeaway and drive-thru customers.
McDonald’s will continue to provide employment opportunities to local communities with excellent training and development opportunities, a supportive work environment and the flexibility to work convenient shifts. McDonald’s employs about 5,000 people in 150 restaurants in north and east India and makes significant investments in training and development initiatives each year.
