The Union Minister was addressing virtually the third edition of South India Media Summit 2022 held in Chennai on Wednesday.

The South Indian film industry is set to grow at a CAGR of 13% to ₹6,000 crore, while for the print industry, the figure is expected to be ₹9,900 crore by the end of the year. OTT and social media platforms have witnessed tremendous growth during the lockdown and are still expected to grow at a CAGR of 30% annually. In addition, the integration of the “metaverse” will ensure that the industry grows exponentially in the future, he said.
