Shah predicted an “educational revolution” due to the restoration of pride in our languages through the new language education Policy of Modi government which plans to provide technical, medical and legal studies in the country (in regional languages). He said that some people associate the use of the English language with intellectual ability, but there is no link between them. Language is only a medium of expression whereas intellectual ability is a natural gift which can be improved through education, and if education is given in mother tongue, it proves to be very beneficial in improving intellectual ability, Shah said.

Appealing to the students, Shah said that they “should overcome linguistic inferiority complex”. I am proud that under the leadership of Chouhan, Madhya Pradesh has become the first state to introduce medical education in Hindi. Shah said earlier there were 387 medical colleges in the country with a total of 51,000 seats. Now, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, there are 596 medical colleges in the country with an additional 89,000 seats. The first 16 Indian institutions in the country were technology (IITs) and the number is now 23, the number of Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) has increased from 13 to 20, the number of universities has increased from 723 to 1,043 and the Indian Institutes of Information technology (IIIT) from nine to 25, he said. Similarly, the number of other national level institutions has also increased significantly, he said. Shah praised Chief Minister Chouhan and Minister Sarang for playing a leading role in the country in starting MBBS course in Hindi. The driving force behind this move, Sarang said that a team of 97 doctors has prepared these textbooks in a mission mode. Chouhan said that technical words in these textbooks are written in Hindi in the same way as they are pronounced in English. For example, ‘kidney’ is written as kidney. The Chief Minister said that students from rural areas who were unable to get medical education due to lack of knowledge of English would not be left behind and would be able to pursue MBBS course in Hindi.
