It has become the most aerodynamic car in the world, beating the EQS with a drag coefficient of 0.17.
Mercedes-Benz promises a street legal version of this concept car
Mercedes-Benz has kicked off the virtual CES 2022 action with its stunning new Vision eQ2 concept car, which is claimed to have a range of 1,000 kms on a single charge. Amazingly, it manages to do this with almost the same size battery as the EQS packed into a tiny futuristic sedan that looks extremely aerodynamic. Not only does it look very aerodynamic, it also becomes the most aerodynamic car in the world, beating the EQS with a drag coefficient of 0.17, one of the key secrets behind its range.
And as just a concept, it is close to being ready for production and Mercedes will also have a road-legal version of the car with a range of 1,000 km to prove its claims around the range. It ushered in a new design language for Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the era of electric cars, losing its iconic Mercedes grille. The car gulps down energy at the rate of just 10kWh per 100 km which means an efficiency of 100 kmpl in case of petrol cars.
In this 0.17 . but has the highest drag coefficient of any car in the world
It also serves as a showcase of the new-age technologies and materials that Mercedes will begin to introduce in its cars and remove its carbon footprint and impact on nature. It takes advantage of a new modular EV architecture that Mercedes has developed that can be used in the A-Class as well. And one thing that makes it so efficient is its weight – 1,750kg which makes it very light for an EV, thanks to a new battery that is now 50 percent less in volume and 30 percent less mass than the EQS while it is maintained at the same capacity. The EQXX will also get rooftop solar panels that increase its range by up to 25 km. But as far as performance is concerned, it’s not the fastest EV we’ve seen – it can only do 201 bhp which makes it even slower than the EQS.
It gets a new Hyper Screen – a horizontal single piece 47.5-inch 8K affair that takes advantage of OLED technology that also gets high-end smart TV technologies like local area dimming that turns off the screen when blacks are visualized Is. In fact, the user interface is also technology conscious which means it is deeper and more power-efficient. There are new UI elements such as the 3D mapping system which has been developed in partnership with NAVIS Automotive Systems.
Its claimed range is 1,000 km. Is
Building on top of its Vision AVATR concept from CES 2020, sustainable materials like cactus-based leather, bamboo carpet, and synthetic silk are integrated into the car as an alternative to real-world options that involve killing animals.

The most striking and poignant thing about the Vision EQXX is that despite being a concept, it is a street-legal car where everything really works. It’s really close to a production car that will appear as an early production model in some form or another, but most certainly, the technology displayed will start trickling in right away.
