With the aim of making it easier for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to adapt to a hybrid work culture, tech giant Microsoft is bringing three new features to Teams. The new features are ‘Schedule a meeting on mobile’, ‘Chat with anyone’ and ‘Google Calendar integration’.
“Most of us have adapted to hybrid work, and while it is here to stay, it comes with its own challenges. Helping small businesses, in particular, thrive in a dynamic work environment requires tailored solutions,” the company said in a statement.
“Productivity tools and features, specifically aimed at collaboration and better communication, make it easier for SMBs to work together. The ultimate collaboration tool – Microsoft Team Essentials introduces 3 new features to enable SMBs to achieve more Presented.”
With the latest update, Teams users can now schedule meetings on mobile from within the calendar or chat window. Plus, now, by entering the desired recipient’s full email address or phone number and starting a 1:1 or group chat, users can communicate with people outside their organization with no tenant switching required.
“Users can not only collaborate faster, and strengthen relationships with external partners, they can do so in a secure environment with multiple controls,” the company said.
A one-stop shop for managing your schedule and meetings, Google Calendar integration will replace the existing team calendar with Google Calendar, although users can switch back at any time.
