Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga on Sunday urged the Center to review the allocation of funds to the northeastern states through the North Eastern Council (NEC), an official statement said.
The statement said that during his meeting with DoNER and Minister of State for Cooperation BL Verma in New Delhi, Zoramthanga said that several important projects in the northeastern state are either delayed or cannot be executed because the states has not received their fair share, the statement said.
He said that the Center should review the allocation of funds through NEC to the northeastern states.
He said that the State Government was making massive efforts to promote bamboo plantation in the State.
Noting that there is a dire need of Bamboo Link Road in the State, the Chief Minister urged the Center to take measures in this regard.
He was accompanied by H Ramamawi, Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Board, Advisor (Technical) to the Chief Minister and Rosangjuala, Officer on Special Duty.
