Registered before the Legislative Council election.

A report in The Indian Express quoted a source as saying that the argument was about giving extra votes to the ally Congress, which Shinde was opposing.

One of the Congress candidates, Bhai Jagtap, won the election, while the other candidate, Chandrakant Handore, was not elected.

However, Jagtap emerged victorious while Handore lost. BJP has won five seats while Shiv Sena NCP has won two seats each.

Presently, Eknath Shinde is in Guwahati in BJP-ruled Assam, where he reached this morning and claimed that he has the support of 40 MLAs of his party and 10 other MLAs are going to join him.

Shinde had said that he was not parting ways with Shiv Sena and would carry forward the ideology of Balasaheb Thackeray.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that Shinde is not leading the party and added that the two leaders have been working together for 35 years. Raut claimed that the reports of Shinde breaking up with the party were baseless.
