New Delhi: Projects worth Rs 1.05 lakh crore for a wide array of military systems, including Quick-Rage-TU-Air Missile (QRSAM), Mine Counters’s Wessals (MCMV), Electronic Warfare (EW) System, Bakhraband Recovery Vehicle, Logistics platforms of naval sculptures were cleaned by the Ministry of Defense on Thursday.
In his first meeting after Operation Sindoor, under the chairmanship of Defense Acquisition Council (DAC), Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, approved a series of 10 capital acquisition proposals under the ‘Auspicious Approval’ (AON) route, which is the first step in the defense procurement process. The duration of the purchase varies from the basis of case-to-case. Clearance covers three-services with focus on increasing mobility, firepower, logistics and marine security.
Approval includes a wide range of systems. The ministry’s statement said that among them is the purchase of missiles from the surface to air that will strengthen India’s layered defense against dangers from enemy aircraft, drones and missiles.
