More than 1500 old laws will be repealed in winter session of Parliament: Rijiju

Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said that more than 1500 old and outdated laws will be repealed during the winter session of Parliament. According to the minister, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted to reduce the impact of the government in the lives of the people, so he started this initiative.

Rijiju claimed that old law There are burdens on everyday life for common people and should not be put on books as they are no longer relevant.

“The prime minister’s wish is to ease the burden of compliance for the people, to ensure that they can live as peacefully as possible. He wants less government role in the lives of the common people,” he said.

“We (NDA government at the Centre) have decided to remove all obsolete archaic laws from the law as unnecessary laws are a burden for the common man. We have decided to repeal more than 1500 laws in the winter session of Parliament. I am ready to introduce many more repeal Acts,” the Union Minister said.

He insisted that the laws were made to make justice easier for the common people and not to harass them. Their aim is to outline specific processes that will ensure that the lives of ordinary people are as unique as possible.

rijiju Praised the National People’s Party (NPP)-led administration in Meghalaya, but wished the BJP to have a bigger role in the administration for the benefit of the general public.

Assembly elections are due in Meghalaya in about four months. According to Rijiju, the Northeast is being given special attention by the Centre, so there is no reason for the region to lag behind in any industry.

“It is the BJP’s desire to make Northeast prosperous and India a powerful nation. The party wants to fulfill the goals set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India prosperous and fully developed by 2047,” he said.

The Union Minister said that the Ministry of Home Affairs is looking into the demand of the people to introduce Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Meghalaya to check outsiders in the state. “Since ILP is a local demand, the government has to take a collective decision keeping in mind the larger interest of all,” he said.
