On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Divya Mittal, an official of the respected Indian Administrative Service (IAS), balanced her professional commitments and gave an emotional position on the challenges of motherhood. Taking the X, Ms. Mittal admitted that even though she studied at India’s two most prestigious institutions – Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), and Indian Institute of Management (IIM), and cracked into the country’s most difficult entrance exam to become a civil servant, none of which could prepare her for the challenges of being a mother.
On Saturday, the IAS officer balanced his demanding career and shared a series of reflections about testing and victory to increase two young daughters. Ms. Mittal wrote on X, “I am an IAS officer. I have studied with IITs and IIMs. I have struggled to achieve all this. But I can’t prepare anything for the challenges of increasing my 2 younger daughters.”

In the following tweet, she revealed that her elder daughter is eight years old. “The world already tries to shut down its small voice when she is separated with them. We can’t let them diminish their light,” he wrote, as a parent, he believes that his duty is to teach his daughters that their voice matters, even on the censor’s face. “Teach him to be respectable but firm. Tell him, his voice matters, even when he is unstable,” he said.
Ms. Mittal then admitted that balanced her professional obligations along with her responsibilities as a mother is often emotionally left. However, he remembered that at such a time, his daughter’s throat reminds her that children learn from their parents.
“I cry a few nights, which become thin. They see us.
He further said that his job has taught him that he needs his daughters to make mistakes and learn from them. “Be his rock, don’t be his crutches. Let him fall and get up. Just show that you will stay there,” she wrote.

Ms. Mittal said that maternity is full of guilt and mothers constantly question themselves. his advice? “Forgive yourself. You are enough”. “If you have more than 1 children, you have 10 times the responsibility. Even more than love, just stay. Understand them why you are choosing what you do. What you do. It will shape their world vision,” he said.
He also advised mothers to give their best to whatever they do, because children learn from looking at their parents. And for the parents who raise their parents, Ms. Mittal advised, “Teach her to be true to herself. Her feelings are her assets. Teach her to use sympathy, love and kindness to make the world a better place.”
“Life is not a popularity competition. There is no need to like it to honor it. Its price is not in approval from others. He needs to be happy. Give him so much love. Give him so much love that no disappointment, no criticism, no social standard can break his confidence,” he said.
