Mukesh Ambani not going to London: Reliance
Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) on Friday rubbished all ‘baseless’ rumours, which claimed that the Ambani family is likely to move to London after the acquisition of Stoke Park Estate.
Billionaire Mukesh Ambani has no plans to relocate or reside in London or anywhere else in the world, the company said in an official statement. It termed “unfair and baseless speculation” reports of the Ambani family making the 300-acre country club in Stoke Park, Buckinghamshire, their primary residence.
“Reliance Industries Limited would like to clarify that the Chairman and his family have no plans to relocate or reside in London or anywhere else in the world,” the firm said in a statement.
Ambani and his family’s foreign travel has been linked to making Stoke Park their second home after Reliance acquired the London property for Rs 592 crore. They live in Antilia, a 400,000 sq ft Altamount Road residence in Mumbai.
“RIL Group company, RIIHL, which has recently acquired Stoke Park Estate, would like to clarify that the objective of acquisition of the heritage property is to make it a premier golfing and sporting sport while fully complying with the planning guidelines and local regulations. To grow as a resort.” The statement said.
However, it did not comment on reports of Ambani’s frequent foreign visits.
“This acquisition will add to the rapidly growing consumer business of the group. At the same time, it will also expand the footprint of India’s renowned hospitality industry globally,” the statement said.
