India’s first longest bridge over Narmada river is about to be completed soon. According to Pramod Sharma, Managing Director, National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL), the construction of 1,260 meters long bridge Ongoing and the target is to complete the project by June 2024.
This bridge in Bharuch city of Gujarat is going to be the longest bridge on the 508 km long bullet train corridor.
Trial run for entire Gujarat section Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Train Corridor NHSRCL Managing Director SC Agnihotri said that the services will start in the year 2026 and will be started for the people by 2027.

In Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, 100% civil contract i.e. 352 km has been awarded to Indian contractors for the construction of the entire route.
The Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train will have 12 stations in its entire route – eight in Gujarat and four in Maharashtra.
Stations in Gujarat include Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand/Nadiad, Ahmedabad and Sabarmati, and stations in Maharashtra include Mumbai (BKC), Thane, Virar and Boisar.
While 98.7% and 100% of the land has been acquired in Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli respectively, only 68.7% of it has been acquired in Maharashtra.

Surat station will be one of the largest stations of the high-speed rail project with a built up area of 48,234 sqm.
This project has created 1.20 lakh direct and indirect jobs. According to the official, the project has provided 20,000 direct jobs and about one lakh indirect jobs in the state.
