Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals by six wickets to register their first win

Mumbai Indians registered their first win of the season by defeating Delhi Capitals by six wickets in another thrilling IPL encounter. Delhi Capitals were handed their fourth defeat and the team is still struggling to get a point on the points table.

Batting first, Delhi Capitals started on a steady note as captain David Warner and Prithvi Shaw collected 33 runs in 3 overs. However, a beautiful delivery from Hrithik Shokeen snatches the wicket of Shaw. Manish Pandey played a short but explosive innings, but wickets kept falling at regular intervals while Warner played from one end.

In the 15th over of the innings, Akshar Patel opened his arms and hit Hrithik Shokeen for two consecutive sixes. Meanwhile, Warner was also playing aggressively and managed to bring up his much-awaited half-century in just 43 balls during the 16th over. Patel, on the other hand, was able to maintain the rhythm by hitting big shots continuously.

During the 17th over, Patel hit Jason Behrendorff for two more sixes and shared a 50-run partnership with Warner. Finally, Patel achieved his first IPL Half century by hitting a six straight down the ground. The team got all out on a score of 172.

Rohit Sharma started the innings on an explosive note hitting some magical boundaries and was ably supported by Ishan Kishan who displayed some impressive shots. After losing Kishan in a silly run out, Tilak Verma took over the reins and ensured that the partnership was maintained.

After hitting some beautiful fours, Tilak Verma was dismissed for 133 and Suryakumar Yadav walked down the field, only to be dismissed for a golden duck. Soon, Mustafizur Rahman also dismissed Rohit Sharma and after losing three big wickets in 2 overs, the MI dug-out became tense.

Cameron Green opened his batting with a brilliant four and along with Tim David took the teams to a much-needed win.
