Mumbai Metro to add 8 more services on Andheri-Dahisar line from May 1

Eight more services will be operational on Metro lines 2A and 7 from April 24, taking the total number of services on the route to 253, a Maha Mumbai Metro official said on Friday. This increase will ensure that there is a service every 7.28 minutes, which is better than 7.50 minutes now.

Services will run every 10.25 minutes outside peak hours. However, on Saturdays there will be 238 trips with a frequency of 10.25 minutes in non-peak hours and 8.15 minutes in peak hours. Similarly, there will be 205 trips on Sundays and important government holidays, whose frequency will be every 10.30 minutes.

It added that the services have been added to meet the growing demand on the route and to improve passenger experience as waiting times will come down. Out of 30 rakes received for Metro Line 2A and 7, a total of 27 have been deployed on the route.

The two lines connect the north-west suburbs of Mumbai from Andheri to Dahisar with the arterial Western Express Highway in the east and New Link Road in the west.
