Mumbai reports slight drop in Covid-19 cases, lowest daily count this month

Mumbai on Tuesday reported 332 new Covid-19 cases, reportedly the lowest daily count since the beginning of August. However, as per the accounts of the local civic body, two more patients succumbed to the Covid-19 infection in the city. With these additional cases, the total Covid-19 cases rose to 11,33,504, while the death toll rose to 19,666, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said in a bulletin. Mumbai reported 252 fewer cases than on Monday, when it recorded 584 patients, but no deaths from the infection.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, on August 2, the financial capital had registered 329 cases. According to the bulletin, new COVID-19 The cases were detected after 3,499 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative number of tests to 1,79,60,944, while a day earlier, 7,258 Covid-19 tests were conducted in the city.

The BMC further mentioned that the number of cured cases in Mumbai rose to 1,108,767 after 477 patients were cured in the last 24 hours, leaving the city with 5,071 active cases, adding that 332 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the city. There is a coronavirus recovery rate of 97.8 percent out of 19 cases, only 31 patients were symptomatic. According to the bulletin, the growth rate of Kovid-19 between August 9 and August 15 was 0.064 percent, while the rate of doubling of cases was 1,066 days.

Meanwhile, the state of Maharashtra recorded 836 fresh coronavirus cases on Tuesday, 353 less than a day earlier, while two more patients succumbed to the infection, the health department said. With these additions, the state’s total coronavirus tally rose to 80,74,365, while the death toll rose to 1,48,174, the department said in a bulletin.

Additionally, on Monday, the state had recorded 1,189 coronavirus cases and one death, while Mumbai recorded 332 new cases and accounted for both the coronavirus-related fatalities recorded in the state in the last 24 hours. The state’s coronavirus mortality rate stood at 1.83 per cent, while the recovery rate stood at 98.02 per cent. According to the bulletin, 1,224 patients have been cured of the infection in the last 24 hours.
