Muslim Rashtriya Manch appeals to UP voters to stop consolidation of votes against BJP

Consider the welfare schemes for Muslims by the Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath governments, leave behind 70 years of “bonded slavery” by other parties, and look beyond what is seen as a vote bank: it is the Muslim Rashtriya Manch for Muslims. There is an appeal to mobilize in the election. Going to vote for BJP in Uttar Pradesh.

RSS-affiliated organization Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) has been entrusted with the task of mobilizing the minority community before the assembly elections. Sources said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of at least five crore minority votes for the BJP by 2024.

The appeal has been made at a time when the BJP is facing the challenge of consolidating Muslim votes ahead of the crucial UP elections. However, the Yogi Adityanath-led government has found an ally in the MRM which is mobilizing its cadre in Muslim-majority areas.

Sources further said that 400 to 500 representatives of the organization will visit the state to raise awareness on the tagline of the Modi-led government through welfare schemes for the community. The party is wary of this and is trying to avoid consolidation of Muslim votes during the assembly elections in West Bengal.

“We have worked in the Muslim community during the Ram temple verdict and many such occasions. Our cadre is aware of the progress made in the Muslim community during the BJP rule. We have Muslim workers who are literate and know their rights. They are heard when they go to their community. They will distribute pamphlets. We are not affiliated with the RSS, so we work openly in electoral states,” said a source.

MRM has also issued an appeal letter, appealing to minority community not to become vote bank for parties like SP, BSP, Congress, TMC, AAP and AIMIM and give a chance to BJP. Instead. The leaflet also claims that communal riots and attacks on Muslims have come down drastically during the BJP rule.

BJP has been on the target of opposition for promoting “communal agenda” with CM Yogi’s “80 vs 20” remark.

A senior functionary of MRM spoke more about the need to reach out to the community through numbers. “We are around 19 per cent in the state and we have control over 144 assembly constituencies. Our community should be enlightened to see who wants their best and who doesn’t.”

The MRM leaflet also talks about welfare schemes for Muslims with special emphasis on “bright future of Muslim women”. The literature cites the number of Muslims fielded by the BJP in the Gujarat, Lakshadweep and Jammu and Kashmir elections.

“Be it Congress, SP, TMC, AAP, Owaisi or RJD, every political party has treated Muslims as vote banks. BJP cares the most about the society. States like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Punjab, Goa, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh are going to polls in 2022-2023. In the last 70 years, all political parties treated Muslims as vote banks and made them bonded slaves through appeasement. This was broken by the Modi government in 2014 with the slogan ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas’. That’s why in 2019 both Hindus and Muslims voted for BJP. We request you to vote for BJP this time,” read an appeal in the MRM leaflet.

The leaflet further read, “For the bright future of Muslim women and all other people of the community, it is imperative to vote for Modi and Yogi.”

The literature also gives a detailed account of the welfare schemes by the Yogi-led government for the Muslim community. Referring to CM Yogi’s address in the assembly, the leaflet said that although the number of Muslims in the state is 19 percent, but they have got about 30 to 35 percent benefits from the schemes.

In reference to the modernization of the education system in madrasas, the leaflet said, “The intention of the PM and CM is to uplift the minorities and ensure faith through ‘Quran in one hand and computer in the other’.”
