Dhawan, who has just played his 150th ODI, said that his focus is on the 2023 World Cup, which will be hosted by India. He also said that he will play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy – India’s domestic List A and T20 tournaments – to ensure that he stays sharp ahead of next year’s seminal event.
Dhawan is set to play in the three-match ODI series between India and England starting on Tuesday.
“I understand the need to prepare well before a tour, so I make sure to focus on my basics and my preparation method. I have been practicing for England ODIs for quite some time and I am sure that I will be in good shape in the coming matches,” said Dhawan Wire,
“My focus is definitely on next year’s World Cup and for that I want to play as many matches for India and do well there,” he said.
“There will also be an IPL in between, so I will try to do well there and also play domestic ODIs and T20Is,” Dhawan said.

Dhawan played an unbeaten innings of 31 runs as India chased down the target of 111 runs to beat England by 10 wickets in just 18.2 overs.
The southpaw has 6315 runs in 149 ODIs, including 17 centuries and 35 half-centuries.
