The state government and NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under which YSR Jagannath Saswatha Bhu Hakku and Bhoo Raksha Pathakam will provide legal assistance for a land survey project.
As part of the project, each parcel of land in the state is being re-surveyed and numbered with geographic coordinates using latest technology.
The areas of cooperation as per the MoU include drafting, review, documentation, providing training, legal research, resolving land disputes, preparing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), conducting lectures, seminars, workshops and spreading legal awareness. Release said.
NALSAR’s Center for Tribal and Land Rights (CTLR) has already initiated several activities, including assisting the Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Central governments in drafting land laws. It has trained over 1,000 paralegal professionals who have helped solve over one million land issues, the release said.
