The BJP has promised free ‘Nandini’ brand milk for people below the poverty line if it retains power in the state.
Here are the five big election promises of the BJP:

The BJP has promised to launch the ‘Poshane’ scheme, under which people belonging to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category will be given half a liter of ‘Nandini’ milk and 5 kg monthly ration kits every day.

Also promised to provide three LPG cylinders free of cost to BPL families in the month of Yugadi, Ganesh Chaturthi and Diwali.

In its election manifesto titled ‘BJP Praja Pranalike’, the BJP said it would set up ‘Atal Aahar Kendra’ in every ward of every municipal corporation to provide affordable and quality food across the state. BJP chief JP Nadda today released the party’s manifesto for the elections to be held on May 10.

The BJP, which is currently in power in Karnataka, also promised to implement the Uniform Civil Code in the state based on the recommendations of a high-level committee to be formed for the purpose. It also promised to introduce a National Register of Citizens and “speedy deportation of illegal immigrants”.

The BJP also promised to build 10 lakh houses for the homeless under ‘Sarvarigu Suru Yojana’. It said it would also launch a scheme to provide matching deposits of up to Rs 10,000 on five-year fixed deposits made by SC/ST women.
