Legendary Bollywood actor Johnny Walker and his son Naseer Khan
Naseer Khan claims that not many people know about her relationship with the iconic Hindi actor and feels it is something that her father Johnny Walker would be proud of.
It may seem that the children of actors are often covered by the legacy of their parents, but actor Naseer Khan may be an exception. Although he is the son of veteran Hindi cinema actor and comedian Johnny Walker, Naseer claims that not many people know about his relationship with the iconic Hindi actor. Speaking to Times of India, the 52-year-old actor said, “Just the other day, one of my co-actors came running up to me and said, ‘Hey you’re Johnny Walker’s son, I didn’t know’.” Such tales tell for Naseer that he has made it into showbiz on his own and he feels it is something his father would be proud of.
The actor is currently working in a television serial named Shubh Labh which airs on Sony SAB. Speaking about his own journey in acting career, Naseer told the national daily that he is happy that he got work in the industry on his own merit. “People didn’t even realize that I was Johnnie Walker’s son and that’s why they didn’t expect me to follow a certain career path,” Naseer said. The actor said that if one sits down to compare the two eras of his time and that of his father, it is impossible because humour, movies and comedies were very easy in those days when Walker played with stalwarts like Dilip Kumar and Guru Dutt. acted together. Talking about the challenges faced by the modern actor, Naseer said, “Now, a baby is almost born with a mobile phone, so he might not find that comedy and humor appealing. But, I think people and things in those days were much simpler than they are now.
The actor also talked about Walker and said that his father had his own struggles in the 50s, when he made it through on his own. Naseer said he couldn’t take the time to analyze why his movies didn’t work or why a certain TV show didn’t play. The former judge of children’s dance reality show Boogie Woogie said that every actor has gone through their share of struggle. And he has now learned that inner peace and contentment are more important. “Work is part of your life, not your life. I have seen big actors slipping and unknown people becoming stars. So, it is all about enjoying your work,” shared Nasir.
