A total of 275 athletes will compete in the highly anticipated online qualifiers across four different esports titles – CS:GO, DOTA 2, Tekken7, and eFootball 2023 – from March 15 to 27.
The National Esports Championships (NESC) 2023, organized by the Esports Federation of India (ESFI) to select the Indian contingent for the upcoming 15th World Esports Championships (WEC) in Iași, Romania, will begin and be held on March 15. in online mode. ESFI’s event partner Upthrust will organize the Esports qualifiers, where a total of 275 athletes will compete across all four titles – CS:GO, DOTA 2, Tekken7, and eFootball 2023.
In a historic move, the country’s top female CS:GO athletes will battle it out at the NESC to secure their spots at WEC 2023 for the first time. While 21 teams (127 athletes) will compete in the Open Qualifier of CS:GO, 2 teams (11 athletes) will participate in the Women’s Qualifier. Six teams (33 athletes) will fight against each other for DOTA 2 and single-player titles like Tekken7 and eFootball 2023 will have 72 and 32 competitors, respectively.

Qualified teams from CS:GO and DOTA 2 will compete in the Asia Regionals to be held in May-June, with the champions of Tekken7 and eFootball 2023 qualifying directly for the global finals of the tournament.
WEC 2023 will have a massive prize pool of $500,000 (INR 4.12 crore) and will be the biggest ever edition of the tournament with at least 130 countries participating. The global finals of the prestigious tournament will take place from August 24 to September 4, 2023.
