New Delhi: The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and WRI India have participated in India to increase green skill development. On 2 April, both signed a memorandum (MoU) to address the Green Skill Gap and create a training program for permanent jobs.
According to a press statement issued by WRI India, this initiative will focus on “rebuilding and upstairs individuals in major areas such as manufacturing, services and agriculture”.
It will also support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), providing market-transient skills to help them infection in permanent trade practices.

The statement said, “As the demand for Green Jobs grows worldwide, NSDC and WRI India will design training programs matching global opportunities, which create new avenues for Indian workers in international markets.”
It quoted NSDC CEO Ved Mani Tiwari, saying that the change in India’s Green Economy presents a big opportunity to equip its workforce with the skills designed for the future. He said, “This partnership will play an important role in training youth and MSMEs, ensuring that India emerges as a global center for Green Talent,” he said.
Wri India CEO Madhav Pai highlighted the need for low carbon future skills-based solutions. “This collaboration will integrate research-operated insights with practical skilling strategies to empower businesses and individuals,” he said.
The press statement stated that NSDC and WRI India “will design industry-based courses for people with skills for green jobs and skills for self-employment”.
