The second day of Navratri i.e. Dwitiya is dedicated to the second form of Nava Durga – Goddess Brahmacharini. She is believed to be the unmarried form of Mata Parvati, when she did severe penance or penance for thousands of years to get Lord Shiva as her husband. The name Brahmacharini is given because of her rigorous penance and rigorous penance. He is a symbol of love and loyalty. She is also known as ‘Uma’, ‘Aparna’ and ‘Tapcharini’.

Dwitiya Tithi will start at 01:46 PM on 7th October and will continue till 10:48 AM on 8th October. The auspicious time to worship Maa Brahmacharini will be from 11:45 am to 12:32 pm and 02:05 pm. Till 02:52 pm.

Maa Brahmacharini Worship Method

Maa Brahmacharini Puja begins by pouring milk, curd, melted butter, honey and sugar on the idol. Then she is offered flowers, akshat, roli, sandalwood and bhog consisting of sugar, sugar candy and panchamrit and after that her favorite flowers are jasmine, betel leaf, betel nut and clove.

Importance of Maa Brahmacharini Puja

Maa Brahmacharini is a symbol of love, loyalty, wisdom and knowledge and hence, those who worship her with utmost devotion are blessed with peace and happiness in their lives. It is believed that she controls Lord Mangal, and hence bestows knowledge and wisdom to her devotee. Hibiscus and lotus are also offered to him during the worship.
