Goddess Kalratri is considered to be the fierce and violent form of Goddess Durga, who is worshiped on the seventh day of Navratri. It is said that Goddess Kalratri appeared when Parvati peeled off her divine golden skin to kill the demons Shumbha and Nishumbha. She is known as the conqueror of all fear, negative forces, ghosts and evil. She is believed to be generous in protecting her devotees and fulfilling all their wishes, due to which she is also known as Shubhankari.
According to the pictorial depiction of Goddess Kalratri, she is of dark complexion and is mounted on a donkey. Saptami Tithi will prevail between 11:50 am, 11 October and 09:47 pm, 12 October. The auspicious time to worship Maa Kalratri will fall during Abhijeet Muhurta and Vijay Muhurta. Abhijeet Muhurta will be from 11:44 AM to 12:30 PM and Vijay Muhurta timing will be from 02:03 PM to 02:49 PM.
