State BJP leader Chandrakant Patil says that MVA Govt. Malik’s support is a tacit consent for Dawood
Maharashtra BJP president Chandrakant Patil on Tuesday said he would not allow the upcoming budget session of the state assembly to go on till the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government sought the resignation of minister Nawab Malik.
Speaking in Kolhapur, Mr Patil expressed ‘shock’ that Mr Malik, a senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, Who was recently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is yet to resign in connection with money laundering and alleged links with underworld gangster Dawood Ibrahim. Instead, he alleged that the MVA government was actively supporting him.
“On February 23, the ED arrested Nawab Malik. The minimum expectation from Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and NCP chief Sharad Pawar, who remote control the MVA government, was that a person [Mr. Malik] Whoever had a direct hand in the activities of a criminal like Dawood Ibrahim will be asked to resign. Not only has this not happened so far, but MVA leaders have come out in support of Mr Malik by protesting outside the ministry,” the BJP state chief warned, adding that his party would not stop the agitation for Mr Malik’s resignation.
Mr Patil said that the Maharashtra government is expressing its support for the criminal activities of Dawood Ibrahim by not seeking the minister’s resignation.
“Even a normal civil servant should be suspended within 24 hours after being arrested. Here, a cabinet minister, whose links with the underworld are considered to be so serious that he has been remanded in ED custody by the court, is yet to be thrown out of the state cabinet. will not allow To work and our statewide agitation will continue till Mr Malik resigns,” the BJP leader said.
The arrested NCP minister, who made headlines last year for his ‘exposure’ and series of allegations against the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and some BJP leaders in the Aryan Khan-Mumbai cruise drug bust case, had repeatedly said That it was only a while back that the BJP-led Center had pitted the central agencies against them.
After his defense against the NCB and some BJP leaders, former Chief Minister and BJP leader of opposition Devendra Fadnavis Alleged that Mr Malik had apparently entered into a property deal with the 1993 Mumbai bombings convict Sardar Shahwali Khan, who is called the ‘frontman’ of Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar, and Mohammad Salim Ishaq Patel.
According to Mr. Fadnavis, a prime property of 2.80 acres on LBS Marg in Kurla was brought by a Solidus Investment Pvt Ltd for just ₹ 30 lakhs and the signatory of the deal was Mr. Nawab Malik’s son Faraz Malik.
“People have not forgotten the trauma of the 1993 Mumbai bombings. Three more blasts took place in which Dawood’s gang members and his sister Haseena Parker were involved. Nawab Malik buys a prime land at throwaway prices as per Dawood’s plan and the money is used for financing terrorist activities,” alleged Mr. Patil.
Comparing the perseverance of late Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray with Uddhav Thackeray’s alleged aversion to demanding Malik’s resignation, Mr Patil said the current Shiv Sena president and Maharashtra chief minister should choose such a minister as his own. There is no right to play with the security of the country by keeping a pass. Cabinet.
When asked why the ED, widely criticized by MVA parties for acting at the behest of the BJP-led central government, was now probing Mr. , Mr. Patil commented: “What was the link [between Mr. Malik and the underworld] Found out when Mr. Fadnavis was the Chief Minister [2014-19]So the BJP would have acted immediately.”
Seeking to create a rift between the three alliance partners, the BJP state chief claimed that the way the NCP had allegedly pressurized the Shiv Sena to demand the resignation of former minister Sanjay Rathod, will the Shiv Sena now do the same to the NCP? Would demand that a later minister was in the dock.
“Last year, before the assembly session, the NCP had put pressure on its ally” [the Sena] To accept Rathod’s resignation… Now, will Shiv Sena ask the same to NCP?” Mr. Patil said.
While several senior Congress leaders have come out in support of Malik, the Shiv Sena has distanced itself from the matter, with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray keeping quiet. Apart from the strange tweet by Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut in support of Mr Malik, Mr Thackeray himself has not commented on the issue.
Last week, while almost all top NCP leaders and several Congress ministers gathered at Mahatma Gandhi’s statue near Mantralaya to protest Mr. Malik’s arrest, the event was stopped with the explicit presence of top Shiv Sena leaders except in the symbolic presence of senior Shiv Sena leaders. was marked by absence. Leader Subhash Desai and other lower party functionaries.
More frankly, the mouthpiece of Shiv Sena faceThere was an editorial the day after Mr Malik’s arrest, for inciting against the BJP and the Centre’s misuse of central investigative agencies.
