Special PMLA court on Wednesday sent Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody till March 3 in money laundering case.
The ED had earlier sought 14-day custody of the NCP leader. ED arrested him today.
According to reports, Malik was not cooperating during the interrogation. Soon after the arrest, the leader said that he was not scared and would fight and win.
Earlier in the day, the ED had summoned Malik in the alleged money laundering case involving underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
Soon after Malik’s arrest, Nationalist Congress Party President Sharad Pawar had called an emergency meeting of party leaders at his residence in Mumbai.
Rajesh Tope, Chhagan Bhujbal and Ajit Pawar arrived for the meeting.
Last Tuesday, the ED had raided the residence of Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar in Mumbai in connection with the money laundering case.
The ED conducted searches at several places in Mumbai linked to the underworld. Sources gave this information on Tuesday.
The ED had raided 10 different places in Nagpada linked to late Haseena Parkar, sister of Dawood Ibrahim.
The agency had also questioned Dawood’s nephew and Parkar’s son Alishah Parkar and Chhota Shakeel’s henchman Salim Qureshi alias Salim Fruits.
