NBEMS invites applications from medical institutions for recognition, know eligibility criteria

NBE invites applications for fresh and renewal of recognition for DNB with six year courses (image rescheduled)

As per the official notice, the submission of application form for recognition purpose will start from February 21 and the last date will be April 28.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), which accredits hospitals and institutes for running various diploma courses after MBBS, has issued a notification announcing new and new guidelines for accreditation for DNB, DNB courses in various broad and super specialties. Applications are invited for renewal. in the form of fellowship categories.

The board also invited applications for fresh and renewal of recognition for six-year courses as well as for Broad Specialty (DNB). Diplomate of National Board (DNB) is a postgraduate degree, equivalent to MD/MS degree awarded to doctors in broad specialties after three years of residency. Doctorate of National Board (DrNB) is a post-graduate super specialty degree awarded by NBD after completion of three years senior residency of post-MD/MS/DNB.

The process of submission of application form for the purpose of recognition will start from 21st February and the last date will be 28th April as per the notification issued. Apply for renewal of recognition which is valid till June 2023. While for broad specialty and direct six-year courses, the hospitals and institutions which are accredited till December 2023 can apply for renewal of recognition.

accreditation criteria

Grant of accreditation is in the hands of NBEMS and as in other cases, the requirement criteria must be met before approval is obtained from the authority.

To start DNB or FNB course, the applicant must be working in a medical establishment for at least two years in a hospital.

Apart from providing OPD and IPD medical services in the same premises, the applicant hospital should have the necessary infrastructure in this case.

License and certificate from the concerned authorities are mandatory for the applicant of the hospital while applying for recognition.

Online Accreditation Application Portal

Applicant institutes are required to submit the online application form using this portal. By creating a User ID on this portal, the applicant will be able to create his profile which will be verified by the Board. The applicant cannot submit the application until and unless NBEMS verifies the profile. Once the profile is approved, the applicant can complete the rest of the formalities while filling the hospital form.
