Girl students, who faced harassment during searches before the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) exam and were allegedly forced to remove their underwear, have been allowed to re-appear for medical examination by The National Testing Association (NTA). has allowed. The information regarding the exam was given by the NTA over an email to the girl students facing harassment.

Around 100 girl students at an examination center in Kerala claimed that they were asked to remove their bras before appearing for the medical entrance examination as part of the search process. The students said they were asked to take off their bras at the metal detection center because of the ‘hook’ in their innerwear. The incident took place at the examination center in Kollam.

The NEET 2022 dress code states that students are not allowed to wear any metal objects or accessories during the exam as an anti-cheating measure. The advisory talked about belts, but did not mention undergarments.

The female staff of a third party company outsourced by NTA to work at the examination center was arrested in this case.

A 17-year-old youth had lodged a complaint with the Superintendent of Police on July 18, who brought it to light.
