National Testing Agency (NTA) may soon release the notification for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) test. According to the NTA officials, NEET UG 2022 is likely to be held in July and the application process will start in April. Detailed notification will be announced soon.
NTA will issue neet 2022 Application form UG and notification on official websites – nta.ac.in and neet.nta.nic.in. The application form will also be made available on the Digilocker app and website – digilocker.gov.in.
National Medical Council (NMC) has amended the eligibility criteria for NEET UG exam. NMC announced that the upper age limit for appearing in NEET-UG 2022 has been removed as there is a clause of open school students not being eligible. According to this, candidates who have completed 18 years of age by 21st December of the year of examination are eligible to appear in the NEET UG examination. Earlier the age limit for general category candidates was 25 years and for reserved category candidates it was 30 years.
With the age limit criteria removed, candidates can now appear in the medical entrance test multiple times even after taking admission in other courses.
NEET is the only entrance exam in India for admission to MBBS, BDS and some other allied courses. Every year around 15 lakh students take part in it. From 2021 onwards, the test also enables admission to BSc Nursing and BSc Health Sciences courses.
