NEET 2022 Result: When to expect the scorecard? What is the cut-off for government colleges

The country’s biggest entrance exam NEET 2022 will soon declare its results. This year more than 18 lakh students registered for the medical entrance exam, which is almost 2.5 lakh more than last year. National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam conducting body, will release the result on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.

Usually, the NEET 2022 results are declared in around one and a half months. NEET 2022 was held on 17th July. Hence, it could have been issued till August 31. Last year, NEET was conducted on September 12, while the result was released on November 1. In 2020, the exam was conducted on September 13, and the results were out on October 16.

Firstly, the answer key of NEET will be released after which students will get a window to raise objections. The objection so raised will be studied by an expert committee and changes will be made in the final answer key. The results will be based on the final answer key.

To clear the exam, students need only 50 percentile and 40 percentile for reserved category students, and 45 percentile for PhD students, the cut-off for admission to top medical colleges is expected to be higher.

Experts revealed that even though the paper was tougher than last year, the cut-off can be expected to increase. To get admission in Government Medical College, students will need around 600 marks in the exam.

Saurabh Kumar, Chief Educational Officer, Vidyamandir Classes said that the cut-off to qualify NEET can be around 150 marks and the final seat can go up to 350 marks, however, for MBBS in government colleges students need around 600 marks. Will be He further added that Chemistry and Botany were tougher than last year and could be the deciding factor.
