Directorate General of Health Services has decided to reduce the cut-off for NEET PG 2021 by 15 percent. This means that now students need to score 35 per cent instead of 50 per cent to clear the postgraduate medical entrance exam. DG Heath Services in a letter has asked the National Board of Examinations (NBE) to declare the revised results.
As per the relaxation given, the unreserved category students need to secure 35 per cent marks, while PH category students 30 per cent and SC, ST and OBC category students 25 per cent marks.
DG Heath Services said, “After due discussion and deliberation, it has been decided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in consultation with the NMC with prior approval from the Ministry to reduce the cut-off to 15 per cent in all categories. “
The revised dates of the result are not revealed yet.
Meanwhile, the National Medical Commission has also removed the upper age limit for those appearing for the NEET-undergraduate 2022 exam. The upper age limit set by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in 2017 was 25 years for unreserved candidates and 30 years for reserved candidates.
