NEET was conducted twice this year. The exam was first conducted on July 17. On the day of the examination, a large number of girl students were asked to remove their bras before entering the examination hall. After scrutiny, the affected students were allowed to appear for the re-exam to compensate for the inconvenience caused. Altogether 18.7 lakh students had applied for NEET 2022 across the country.
This was also the first time that the upper age limit for applying for medical admission was removed. This could make the competition even tougher. Experts already believe that the cut-off scores are likely to increase. Passing marks – 50% – can go up to 150 marks. Last year the 50 percentile score for the unreserved category was above 138 marks. It was less than 147 in 2020 and 134 in 2019. To get admission in top colleges, the predicted cut-off of around 600 marks.
