As per FORDA data, there are around 900 seats which are lying vacant for NEET SS 2022. Additionally, more candidates have filed petitions requesting similar relief and are currently awaiting judgment.
Even after this about 900 seats are vacant National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) claims Super Specialty (NEET SS) 2022 Mop-up round counseling to be conducted by MCC. The resident doctors have now requested the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) to conduct a special mop-up round to fill the vacant NEET SS seats.
Last year also FORDA had expressed concern several times about the large number of seats remaining vacant even after two rounds of counselling. MCC has conducted a special mop-up round for the remaining seats after the last year’s exam.

“We cannot let these precious seats go to waste! Around 900 seats are lying vacant even after the mop-up round of NEETSS 2022. As observed by the Hon’ble Court- ‘These seats are a national asset’. MOP UP-Round 2 Requesting @DghsIndia @NMC_IND to organize,” the association tweeted.
Meanwhile, in February, the Supreme Court allowed some candidates to surrender their seats during the first two rounds of MCC NEET SS counseling 2022. Those seats were included in the list of available seats in a counseling notice dated February 14.

Through an official notice, the federation said that these seats are national assets and should not be vacated. He has suggested one more mop-up round for NEET SS counseling 2022 keeping in view the larger interest of the students and citizens who would be benefitted by having more super specialty doctors in the country. The federation also requested the MCC to add the seats which were allotted to the students and did not appear in the new NEET SS mop-up round of counselling.
