The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 for admission to undergraduate medical courses will be held on September 12 (Sunday) after the Supreme Court today dismissed a plea by a group of students to postpone the examination.
NEET (UG) 2021 will be conducted across the country on 12 September 2021 following the COVID-19 protocol. The NEET exam was earlier to be held on August 1.
According to an official release issued by the Ministry of Education, in order to ensure social distancing norms, the number of cities conducting the exam has been increased from 155 to 198.
The ministry said the number of examination centers would also be increased from the 3,862 centers used in 2020. To ensure adherence to the COVID-19 protocol, the ministry said that face masks will be provided to all the candidates at the centre.
“Staggered time slots during entry and exit, contactless registration, proper hygiene, seating with social distancing etc. will also be ensured. In addition to the usual places, all furniture and fixtures, and seats will be sanitized before and after the examination.
