NEET-UG results declared, 3 share top ranks with perfect scores – Times of India

NEW DELHI: A perfect 720, three candidates – Mrinal Kuteri from Telangana, Tanmay Gupta from Delhi and Karthik G Nair (also female topper) from Maharashtra were declared joint toppers of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Graduate) 2021. The result of which was declared on Monday night.

Overall, out of 15,44,275 candidates, 8,70,074 (56.34%) passed the exam.

Continuing this trend in the past, the number of qualified female candidates is 1.19 lakh more than male candidates.

In the official declaration of results, NTA has not used tie-break system while declaring the topper, which means three number one all India rank holders, the next rank being fourth.

Similarly, there are 12 candidates who were placed at the fifth rank as they had secured 715 marks and had the same marks in all the three subjects.

There are 21 candidates in the top 19 All India Rankings, three each from Uttar Pradesh, two each from Delhi, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka and one each from Bihar, Kerala, West Bengal, Punjab, Gujarat and Haryana. .

NEET-UG 2021 was conducted on 12 September and recorded the highest attendance in five years.

Out of 16.14 lakh candidates, 95.63% had given the exam.

The last time medical admissions recorded 94% attendance was in 2017 when 11.38 lakh registered as against an all-time high of 97% in 2018.

So far two cases of impersonation have been detected and three Covid positive candidates were allowed to take the test in isolation in Kerala.

There has been a decline in the qualifying marks range this year as compared to 2020.

While the qualifying marks limit or cutoff for General and EWS category was fixed at 720-138 as against 720-147 in 2020, the cutoff for OBC, SC and ST decreased from 146-113 to 137-108 in 2020 .

Similarly, the qualifying marks range for General / EWS PWD candidates is 137-122, while in 2020 is 146-129, this year the qualifying marks for OBC PWD SC PWD and ST PWD candidates is 121-108.

National Testing Agency (NTA) which is the conducting body of NEET-UG this year had also emailed the result to the candidates.

“This is to make the process more transparent. In the previous occasion some candidates approached the agency claiming that the result obtained from the website in the first instance did not match with the result accessed later. However, later these cases of forgery were found. However, now candidates can match the results given in their email from the result portal,” according to a senior NTA official.

The result was delayed this year due to a stay by the Maharashtra High Court, which was struck down by the Supreme Court on October 28, 2021.

Candidates may visit the website www.mcc.nic.in for more details. Candidates will apply for 15% All India Quota seats as per the instructions of DGHS and the counseling will be stopped after the seats are exhausted.
