Netizens Share Rib-Tickling Memes As Elon Musk’s Acquisition ‘Syncs In’ On Twitter
Twitter’s takeover by Elon Musk sparked a meme fest as netizens shared hilarious ‘Chief Tweet’ on various social media platforms.
Beyond serious debate over free speech and how the ‘stray’ new boss might change social media discourse in the days and months to come, many saw the funny side of things and Twitter was soon flooded with hilarious, rib-tickling memes. Because Twitterati “synced in” the new reality.
The world’s richest man and CEO of electric car maker Tesla Inc. at the helm of one of the world’s most influential social media platforms. Twitter Inc’s new owner and self-described free speech absolutist fired top executives including chief executive Parag Agarwal, CFO Ned Sehgal and legal affairs and policy chief Vijaya Gadde soon after completing its USD 44 billion acquisition.
Musk famously entered Twitter HQ with a sink in his hand, and posted a video with the caption: “Entering Twitter HQ – let him drown!”.
The social media platform is full of funny videos and funny posts.
In one such meme, which has since gone viral, a smiling Musk is featured as the villainous Thanos in Marvel’s Avengers film. In the meme, Musk is shown snapping his fingers, a move that has dramatically wiped out Twitter employees.
There’s another man – pictured as Musk – leaning out the car window as he takes the birds from a vendor, and frees them one by one.
One of the widely viewed clips shows actor Govinda – in one of his films – going from cabin to cabin asking everyone to indiscriminately throw out and sell off portfolios.
The clip from Govinda’s old film is accompanied by the caption “#TwitterTakeover and firing after #ELONMUSK #ParagAgrawal, Ned Segal and Vijay Gadde.” Another desi dish that netizens are cracking up on is a picture of a roadside Agarwal sweet shop with the caption “#ParagAgarwal is back with a bang in front of Twitter HQ”.
