The rear-end gets new wraparound LED tail lamps which are joined together by a black plastic panel. The 2023 Everest looks more muscular than its predecessor, thanks to its flat nose, high-set bonnet, as well as its overall boxier appearance. The new-gen version of the Everest is also 50 mm wider and has a 50 mm longer wheelbase than the outgoing model.
The interior of the SUV has also been completely revamped. It gets an all-new dashboard layout with a 12-inch vertically stacked touchscreen infotainment system taking center stage. The all-black cabin looks more modern, and brings in a range of new features like a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster, Ford’s latest Sync 4A system, wireless phone charging, heated and ventilated front seats, 10-way power adjustment and memory function packs. On the safety front, the 2023 Everest is packed with nine airbags – including a center airbag located between the driver and the front passenger, Ford’s intelligent adaptive cruise control system with lane centering, stop and go and evasive steer assist, reverse Includes brake assist function. A blind-spot information system with pre-collision assistance, intersection functionality, and trailer coverage.
Talking about the powertrain, the new Ford Everest Will be available with multiple engine options. These include a new 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel unit, a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel, a 2.0-litre four-cylinder bi-turbo diesel, and a 2.3-litre EcoBoost turbo-petrol unit. The petrol motor will be offered with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, while the diesel motors will be mated to a 10-speed automatic. The SUV will be available with an optional four-wheel drive configuration with 6 different drive modes, a locking rear differential and a two-speed transfer case.
The power and torque outputs of these powertrains are yet to be revealed. Apart from this, Ford has also kept quiet on its pricing, which will probably be announced closer to its market launch. What we do know is that the SUV will be offered in four variants namely Ambiente, Trend, Sport and Platinum. Unfortunately, we don’t expect Everest/Endeavour to make a comeback in the Indian market as the American manufacturer packed its bags and left the country last year.
