The next-gen Ford Mustang is likely to get a hybrid powertrain.
We now know that the new Mustang will be very forward looking and will adopt a cleaner powertrain. Ford is likely to offer it a hybrid powertrain to retain the tough fuel economy regulations, but there will be other options in the range. And then, there are also rumors that the new Mustang will also switch to all-wheel-drive (AWD) which will be a first in history. Now the foundation of the new generation Ford Mustang will certainly be upgraded, but it won’t be a completely new platform. A 2.3-litre EcoBoost or 5.0-litre V8 will be included in this range and a 5.2-litre supercharged V8 is also speculated.

At the time Ford India announced that it would stop making cars in India, the carmaker made it clear that a restructuring was underway, and that it would not close all stores in India. The American auto giant will sell completely built units (CBUs) or imported premium models in our market and the Ford Mustang is on the cards. In fact, Ford will launch the current-gen Mustang in India in the second half of 2022 and the new-gen model is expected to follow after the global launch.
