New study suggests that consumption of anti-inflammatory fruits may reduce the risk of dementia

A new study claims that consumption of anti-inflammatory fruits may prevent future risk of dementia. Consuming a cup of tea, a cup of coffee, anti-inflammatory fruits, vegetables, legumes, etc. in the morning reduces the risk of dementia. Dementia is considered a major disease in the elderly. It also causes Alzheimer’s disease which leads to memory loss in people. Alzheimer’s usually occurs in the elderly, but sometimes young people also suffer from such diseases. Dementia affects the functioning of the brain leading to Alzheimer’s.

According to a report published in DailyMail, a new study has revealed important things towards overcoming dementia. Studies claim that anti-inflammatory fruits, tea and coffee can reduce the risk of dementia by up to a third. Anti-inflammatory diet prevents inflammation in the cells of the body. More than a thousand people were included in this study and they were given anti-inflammatory fruits after which they were followed for three years.

Most of these people were given an anti-inflammatory diet. Their diet consisted of 20 fruits, 19 servings of vegetables, four servings of legumes and 11 cups of tea or coffee each week.

According to the World Health Organization data, 55 million people in the world suffer from dementia and about 10 million new people are falling prey to it. Scientists have been doing studies globally, but so far no cure has been found for this disease.

Professor and author Dr. Nikolaas Skaramis from the University of Athens said, “The results of the study found that people can make their brain healthier by including an anti-inflammatory diet. This can easily avoid the risk of Alzheimer’s by changing their diet. It requires very little effort. To avoid this, one has to consume only anti-inflammatory fruits and vegetables.

Tomatoes, olive oil, green leafy vegetables, spinach, collards, almonds, walnuts, salmon, tuna fish, sardines, strawberries, blueberries, cherries, oranges are some of the anti-inflammatory foods.
