NGO ties up with RPF to stop child trafficking in railway stations

Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials in association with Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) will increase vigilance at railway stations to check child trafficking.

BBA Andhra Pradesh coordinator G Tirupati Rao said that a joint team of RPF and BBA will keep a watch on children walking suspiciously at all railway stations in the state.

Shri Tirupati Rao said that BBA CEO Rajni Sekhri Sibal and RPF Director General Sanjay Chander recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Delhi.

RPF will act swiftly on inputs from BBA and its associates, Anti-Human Trafficking Units (AHTU), experts from Cyber ​​Cell, Government Railway Police (GRP), State Police, other law enforcement agencies and public and rescue the children on the platform. and trains, officials said.

The NGO coordinator said that under this training and capacity building for the employees, awareness and awareness sessions on child trafficking, abduction and abuse of children would be organized.

Tirupati Rao said, “BBA saved over 500 children in AP during the pandemic.”
