Nitish Kumar meets Rahul Gandhi in Delhi, discusses ways to ensure opposition unity

Chief minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar met Congress leader on Monday Rahul Gandhi Here and there the two leaders discussed the current political situation in the country and ways to ensure opposition unity.

This is the first meeting between the two leaders in Bihar after Kumar pulled out of the NDA and formed a grand coalition government with outside support from the RJD, Congress and the Left.

“If the opposition is united, a good atmosphere will be created. I have no desire or aspiration (to become prime minister),” Kumar said in the national capital.

Kumar arrived in the national capital on Monday and is likely to meet several opposition leaders including NCP’s Sharad Pawar, AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal and JDS supremo HD Kumaraswamy during his visit. He is also expected to meet Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and leaders of the Left parties.

Kumar is trying to bring together all the opposition parties against the BJP for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
