NMDC production increased by 24 percent in 2021-22
The National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), a unit of the Ministry of Steel, registered 24 per cent production growth as it produced 42.19 million tonnes of iron ore in 2021-22, as compared to 34.15 million tonnes recorded last year.
In 2021-22, NMDC sold 40.56 million tonnes of iron ore, which was 22 per cent higher than 33.25 million tonnes sold in 202-21.
During the March quarter of 2021-22, NMDC produced 13.86 million tonnes of iron ore as compared to 12.31 million tonnes in the corresponding period of the previous year, a growth of 13 per cent.
At the same time, it registered a growth of 11 per cent in sales during the March quarter as it sold 12.29 million tonnes of iron ore as compared to 11.09 million tonnes in the March quarter of 2020-21.
