JD(U) president Rajeev Ranjan Singh alias Lalan on Saturday alleged that political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor is “working” for the BJP as part of its “conspiracies” to gain a strong foothold in Bihar. . Rejecting Kishor’s claim that the party’s de facto leader, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had turned down the “offer”, Lalan said the election campaign manager was “not a political worker but a businessman” who relied on a “marketing” strategy.
The JD(U) chief apparently remarked in reference to former national president RCP Singh, “We know that Prashant Kishor has been working for the BJP for some time now. A BJP agent was recently caught during magisterial checking. went.” Lalan said, “BJP is relying on conspiracies in Bihar. Earlier it used RCP Singh and now it is using Prashant Kishor. But we are alert. We will not allow these conspiracies to succeed.”
The JD(U) president’s remarks come days after a meeting between Kumar and Kishor, the latter of which claimed he had some direct talks with the Bihar CM, told him that prohibition, his most favorite is one of the steps. Totally failed and should be reviewed. Kishor, who has launched a campaign ‘Jan Suraj’, under which he will begin a 3,500-km-long state-wide ‘padayatra’ next month, also claimed to have turned down a “specified” offer from Kumar, who, he believes Yes, it has run out of steam.
Lalan claimed, “It was Prashant Kishor who wanted to meet Nitish Kumar After the new political situation emerged in Bihar. He spoke to the CM who asked him to speak to the party president first. So he came to meet me in New Delhi.” “I told him that his return to the party could be considered if he agreed to follow the party’s discipline. He then took an appointment with the CM, who agreed to meet him and made an appointment. But, as part of his marketing strategy, he told the media that he has been called to the chief minister’s residence, but he will not go.” Pavan Varma later met Nitish Kumar. The teen had a word with someone he knows. Kishor again expressed his desire to meet the CM and they met. But why would anyone propose to him? Who is that?” said Lalan.
Notably, Kishor rose to prominence in 2014, when his company IPAC took over the resoundingly successful campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was then the Chief Minister of Gujarat and the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate for the Lok Sabha elections. Kumar, whose party was drunk, hired Kishor a year later when assembly elections were held in Bihar. The alliance with Kumar’s arch-rival Lalu Prasad and the Congress outshined the BJP despite an intense campaign by the PM.
Kishor was later appointed as an advisor to the Bihar CM, a post of cabinet minister rank, although he continued to work in a professional capacity for other political figures. In 2018, Kumar, who was then the national president of the JD(U), inducted Kishor into the party and promoted him to the post of national vice president within weeks. However, Kishor’s outspokenness against the CAA-NPR-NRC led him to be expelled from the party, which was an ally of the NDA at that time, in 2020.
Soon after, Kishor started a campaign called “Baat Bihar Ki”, which ran into an intellectual property rights legal dispute and was later shelved. Kishor, who says he abandoned the previous project due to the Covid-19 pandemic, managed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s successful campaign in the 2021 assembly elections. After a long drawn out but unsuccessful talks with the Congress, in which he promised to improve if he joins as a full-time member and gets a free hand, Kishor earlier this year launched ‘Jan Suraj’ in Bihar. He returned what he had promised. To develop as a “better political alternative” for the state.
