No question of withdrawing revised textbooks: Kateel

State BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel said here on Saturday that the government would not take back the text books revised by the Rohit Chakratirth Committee.

Speaking to reporters, Mr Kateel said: “The BJP government is not here to apologise and withdraw the revised text books as demanded by the opposition parties. We are the ruling government and we know how to manage the administration. On the allegation that the BJP was bringing a certain ideology through the revision of text books, Mr. Kateel said that it is the Congress which propagated a certain ideology by revising the text books.

Mr. Kateel called upon the intellectuals to introspect against the changes made by the earlier textbook revision committees. “They need to go into detail in the amendments and comments made by the committee headed by Rohit Chakratirth,” he said. Congress is making baseless allegations against the committee headed by Shri Chakratirha without studying the revised text books. He said the Congress was using every opportunity to create unrest and communal unrest in the state.

On Congress’s opposition to Agneepath scheme, Mr. Kateel said that Congress has got used to criticizing all the good schemes brought by the Central Government. Agneepath is one such scheme which provides an opportunity to the youth who want to serve the country to work in the Defense Forces.
