None of those who pass TET will be left out: New WB Elementary Education Board chairman – Times of India

Kolkata: New Chairman of West Bengal Board of Primary Education Gautam Paul on Tuesday assured that none of those who qualify the teacher eligibility test will be left out and urged the candidates, many of whom are agitating, to have faith in the board. TET in Bengal He said that from now onwards the regular recruitment will be conducted annually by the Board and on the basis of this the recruitment in primary schools will be done twice a year in a fair, transparent and scientific manner.
Paul, who was speaking to reporters, said, “Clearing TET is not the same as getting a job and we will go by a merit-based panel.”
Around 200 people who have passed TET in 2014 and 2016 but are not yet employed as teachers have been sitting on a dharna in front of the Gandhi statue in the heart of the city for more than 576 days.
“I have a lot of sympathy for them (the agitators). I can assure them that none of them whose name will be in the merit list, we will go only as per the rules. We will fill 11,000 vacancies for which the notification was issued. It was recently released. I urge them to believe in us.”
Elaborating on his argument that passing TET does not mean admission, he said that not all students who pass neet exam Seat is fixed in medical college. “For example eight lakh candidates qualify for NEET (medical) exam, but one lakh are enrolled in medical colleges across the country on the basis of their ranking. All eight lakh cannot demand that they be accommodated in medical colleges. The board is sympathetic to every TET aspirant but we have to go by the law.”
Paul said that he is open to any questions or inquiries related to TET in future if required. “We will follow the NCTE question pattern and upload all the details in the net.”
Out of 1,24,952 candidates who qualified in 2016 TET, 1,18,821 registered for the recruitment process and 42,627 were empaneled.
A total of 29,665 candidates registered for the recruitment process in 2020-21 and out of them 13,685 were shortlisted in 2020-21. Of these, 13,564 have been appointed.
