Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has clarified that he was not involved in the exodus of eight Goa Congress MLAs who joined the BJP.
On Wednesday, 8 out of 11 Congress MLAs, including former Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, left the party and joined the BJP.
The Congress had alleged that Himanta Biswa Sarma was behind its leaders joining the BJP.

Speaking exclusively to India Today TV, Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “I don’t know why Congress keeps making allegations about my role. I have never been to Goa politically.”
Asked about Congress’ allegations that its MLAs were offered Rs 30 crore to switch to BJP, Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “I don’t understand how Congress can make such allegations that day Till were in his party. People. Don’t become corrupt overnight. If you think a person can spend Rs 30 crore (on an MLA), why did your party nurture such a person?
