Soumya left a four-page note explaining her drastic move. His real name Savi Madappa was signed on it.
Hyderabad:
Kannada television actress Sowjanya was found dead at her home in Bengaluru today. The 25-year-old’s suicide note signed by Savi Madappa – his real name – along with his screen name, reveals the problems with his mental health and not being able to cope.
The actress, a native of Karnataka’s Kodagu district but based in Bengaluru, has repeatedly apologized to her parents and other family members and friends in a four-page note.
It appears to have been written over three days, suggesting that she was contemplating suicide during this time. There is no sign of him reaching out for help.
“Only I am responsible for this… so family, please forgive me… I promised that I would never do such a stupid thing in my life but I had no choice. I was completely inside Was killed inside. Day after day, I was going so low. I’ve never seen me like never before,” the note said.
For those working in the television and film industry, like many others, the Covid lockdown has been tough. Many people have been pushed into economic crisis and some have talked about depression.
In January this year, actress and Kannada Bigg Boss contestant Jayashree Ramaiah died by suicide. Last July, the same actress put out a Facebook post saying she was leaving, but later deleted the post.
In 2015, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who is also from Bengaluru, revealed that she was diagnosed with depression a year earlier and sought help. “At times, I didn’t know if I should say this, but I didn’t feel like living anymore. I felt like I had no purpose,” she told NDTV.
